From the 1^st September to the 10^th September 2023, the folklore group “Sakhioba” invites you on a tour studying Georgian folk songs where you will learn up to 20 songs. In addition, you will be provided with  accommodation, food and wine, excursions in the surrounding area, hiking… and most importantly, with rehearsals and hosting in the company of the members of the ensemble “Sakhioba”….

Georgian song will be studied together with professionals in the field. The members of the Sakhioba ensemble will take care of adjusting and studying the repertoire for the guests 24 hours a day. Each song will be studied with a theoretical understanding and familiarization with its content and tradition… Daily rehearsals will be held, which are planned to be fun, performed in the evenings at dinner, where the learnt material (and not only) will be put to practical use together at the Georgian table J.

The 10 day tour will be based in Kvemo Kartli, in the village of Partskhisi, 40 kilometers from Tbilisi (Tetritskaro district). We’ll be staying with a local family in their house and gardens. This is where we will live, rehearse, eat and celebrate.

The family is engaged in bio-organic farming. We have our own organic poultry and vegetable farm, wine. The village has local dairy products. Healthy food made from natural products of the village and local wine will make our rehearsals more fruitful and fun J

The village is rich in historical and natural monuments. An ancient fortress and a church are located a few hundred meters from the house. On the edge of the village is Trialeti National Park “Birtvisebi”. The river Algeti flows down the village…. Here you will find all the conditions for your rest and fruitful rehearsals….

The folklore tour for studying Georgian folk song consists of 10 days and includes the following services (and more):

• Transfer from and to the capital (Tbilisi);
• Study of Georgian folk songs. Masterclasses from the leading singers of the ensemble, 3 times a day (each lesson 2 hours);
• Three meals a day (Georgian traditional dishes and wine);
• Provision of a residential apartment and comfortable (safe) overnight accommodation;
• Excursions around the location, viewing of natural and historical monuments;
• Swimming on the village river, boating on the village reservoir and fishing with fishing poles;
• Master class of preparation of various Georgian dishes (khachapuri; churchkhela; beans; chakapuli…) and participation in the preparation (if desired) at the location, in the family;
• Take part (if you wish) in agricultural work: collecting grapes, picking and sorting vegetables, taking care of birds and collecting eggs, etc…
• Spending the entire period with the members of the ensemble “Sakhioba” in fun company;
